Out of the Can International Film Festival proudly celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2027, marking a decade of discovering, supporting and showcasing independent creative talent from the UK and around the world.

Taking place 19–21 November 2027 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, our special anniversary edition will bring together filmmakers, producers, writers, actors, industry professionals, distributors, sales representatives and audiences for three days of screenings, industry talks, networking and opportunities.

For 2027, Out of the Can is expanding beyond the traditional film festival experience. Selected projects will have opportunities to connect with the wider international film and television industry through our Distribution & Investors Day, alongside access to industry professionals and Film Volt Group's international sales and distribution network.

​

We welcome submissions across film, television, documentary, animation, music video, screenwriting and podcasts, from emerging voices through to established creators.

​

For ten years, Out of the Can has been about more than presenting awards. It has been about opening doors, creating connections and giving independent storytellers a platform to be seen and heard.
